OUR DOORS ARE OPEN!

In early 2017 God arrested our hearts with this verse and invited us on an incredible (some might say impossible) journey — a journey we called “Bigger Than Us” — to own our own space in Chicago. Today 3850 W Montrose is ours — our church home on Sundays and a community center, training venue, and event space throughout the week.

From start to finish we saw God miraculously provide favor and finance through an incredibly generous church community and we learned again what we’ve been saying for years — the greatest reward of any faith journey is not God’s promises fulfilled, although we contend for that, but greater knowledge of and intimacy with Jesus. 

Despite the enemy’s opposition, realizing our weakness, and facing the reality of God’s timing (which doesn’t always line up with ours), we’ve learned that He is always good and always faithful! Just as God revealed Himself and His promise to Abraham with increasing clarity, culminating in Gen 22 and the declaration of “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided” (v14), God has done something similar with us.  If the last few years, in particular, have taught us anything, it’s that we serve and worship the God of the impossible.  

We have so many stories that testify to the miraculous power and goodness of God, but this is just the beginning — the building is not “it”. There is still ground to take and “Goliaths” to defeat as continue the work of advancing God’s Kingdom and share the love and grace of God through the good news of the Gospel.
